Cleartrip launches routefinder service Waytogo

Cleartrip has recently launched a new service called Way To Go, which allows one to find the best routes and also make a booking on the service selected.

This service is currently in public beta and is developed by an Australian startup Rome2Rio. It offers results of what is the fastest, cheapest, greenest way to reach your destination with an overlaying on a map, which highlights the routes based on the mode of transport selected. As its also integrated with its own booking facilities, you can book tickets easily. For example, if you want to plan a trip to say from Bangalore to Goa, it shows the modes of transport available along with options like Fastest, Cheapest and Greenest way to reach it. As Cleartrip has integration with various service providers like Airlines, Railways and recently introduced Bus tickets, it allows you to book the tickets from that window (ofcourse, another page opens with options to select trains) You can even book ferry rides.

This service is available internationally and Waytogo covers over 5 trillion routes, 2.5 million places, 670 airlines and 600 ground transportation providers (trains, buses, local transit, ferries, etc.). As most travel and booking sites (atleast in India) have limited options when it comes to finding travel routes, Cleartrip believes Waytogo will fill that gap by offering end-to-end travel options covering multi-modal transport.
Also Waytogo currently offers local transit data for New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore (currently Metro & Taxi modes are available, Bus routes was not available for Bangalore) ! Want to try shortest path from MG Road to Electronics city via Silk Board Junction ? 🙂

Its still in beta and you can expect some hiccups like when I searched Bangalore to Mysore, the option to travel by bus showed 11 hours while it does not take more than 4 hours 🙂
