LinkedIn Now Asks Confirmation For Endorsements To Be Visible on Profile

LinkedIn had stated in March that 1 billion endorsements were given on its popular professional networking site. It had created quite a stir and most of it on the negative side. People were unhappy about receiving endorsements from all and sundry. Some called it a spam and even questioned its existence.

Till now, these endorsements were visible on the profiles once they were given and the recipients used to get an email on the same. However, starting yesterday LinkedIn is now asking for your confirmation to make them visible on the profile pages (as shown in the image below).

In a blog LinkedIn had given some big numbers: More than 50 million endorsements per week, 18 million people had given endorsements and it even stated that profile visibility had increased 4 times with endorsements. Strategic Planning, Customer Service, MS Office, Project Management, Recruiting, Public Speaking, Business Development, Marketing Strategy, Telecommunications, Social Media were the Top 10 endorsements  in its report.

Google Services disrupted Want to know the list of the countries where Google services are blocked? read on. According to Google, people in more than 30 countries face disruption to all, one or the other of its service due to various reasons but the most common reason being Government censorhip. While countries like Pakistan, Tajikistan are blocking services like Youtube citing censorship, countries like Indonesia, Trinidad and Tobago have had to face disruptions due to reasons like blackout. These reports are released as part of the Google Transparency reports and can be accessed by clicking on the link here.

Among the list of services blocked it is very interesting to note that Morocco has blocked Google Earth since 2009 and continues to be the only country doing it in the world! There are a total of 14 disruptions in 2013 so far and most of these are due to Government censorship. In 2012 there were 27 disruptions, apart from government censorship the other reasons included Undersea cable cuts and ISP errors.
