Akash India-35-dollar-tablet

Is Sky The Limit For India’s 35$ Android Tablet Akash

Akash India-35-dollar-tablet After prolonged skepticism over the announcement of a cheap computing device aimed for students, Government of India kept its promise and launched today the world’s cheapest computing tablet called Akash. Initially dubbed as Sakshat, it was later rechristened as Akash (Akash means Sky in Hindi/Sanskrit).

While launching this tablet, Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal quoted: “It is a milestone in history. It will bring a paradigm shift in education delivery. Open Hardware Monitor

Free App to Monitor CPU Factors Like Fan Speeds, Temperature, Clock Speed

Open Hardware MonitorGenerally we do not worry about the hardware factors of our Laptops or PCs like CPU fan speed, core temperature, clock speed and etc assuming them to be running just fine. Very recently I came across a situation where I wasn’t sure if my laptop’s fan was working properly. Though the laptop manufacturer had provided the software to track various parameters like hardware and software controls no where it had the additional details like fan speeds, voltage, utilization and more.

I came across a free utility called Open Hardware Monitor, its an open source application and supports most hardware monitoring chips found on mainboards available today.

This application does not require any installation and you can just click to open and run it. Hardware Monitor runs on 32-bit and 64-bit editions of  Microsoft Windows XP / Vista / 7 and most x86 based Linux operating systems. You can download this for Windows / Linux from HERE
